August 27th, 2019 | Christina Han

Behind the data are our world-class thought leaders. Over the next few months, we will be introducing you to the people responsible for Comperemedia’s industry expertise.

Christina Han, Associate Research Analyst

Christina Han is an Associate Research Analyst at Comperemedia, responsible for writing proactive, syndicated, and custom reports providing marketing insights across a range of industries, with a special focus in direct mail and email marketing strategies.

Q: What topics do you specialize in?

A: I specialize in direct mail and email marketing strategies within multiple industries including financial services, retail, travel, etc. My focus is primarily on innovative and developing marketing campaigns that include digital advancements, millennial targeting, and customer relationship management.

Q: How did you get to where you are now?

A: I’m originally from St. Louis, but moved to Chicago to pursue my education at DePaul University and graduated in 2018. While at DePaul, I joined IME (Integrated Marketing Education), an honors marketing program that provided opportunities to develop analytical, presentation, and marketing management skills. We worked with real world clients and presented actionable insights to their c-suite executives. In addition, I interned at Morningstar for almost 2 years, providing some insight into the financial services industry.

Q: If you could have lunch with anyone in your industry, who would it be and why?

A: If I had the chance, I would love to sit down with Jen Rubio. She is the co-founder of suitcase company Away, but she has a very unconventional success story. Not only is she a female immigrant, but Jen pursued an opportunity from a simple broken suitcase. She kept asking questions until she finally found the answers that satisfied the initial problem. Her creative drive and her persistence for problem solving is very admirable, and something I plan on doing throughout my career.

Q: Tell us about a brand campaign or shift in strategy that has recently caught your eye?

A: With the rapid growth of the fintech industry, I’m interested to see how online banks communicate to consumers and provide meaningful customer experiences online, without relying on in-person communications in store, or in branch like most traditional banks. For me,
Ally comes to mind as a best in class online bank that caters to customers through quality customer service. Their recent Ally Home Team campaign caught my eye because it was a campaign that successfully brought human assistance to an entirely online home-buying process, providing a much more streamlined and convenient process for consumers looking to buy a home.

Q: What is your favorite part about your job?

A: Since this is my first job out of college, I love having so much flexibility and creative freedom to write about topics and industries that interest me. This position really encourages me to be bold with my insights and be more purposeful with my reports.

Q: Last but not least- tell a fun fact about yourself.

A: I was actually born in Seoul, South Korea which ruins my chance of becoming the first female president of the United States of America.
