2019 Financial Services Trend: Platformification

June 5th, 2019 | Lily Harder

As the industry searches for seamless ways for consumers to engage with their money, we expect to see a marketing shift toward a more complete digital experience. According to Comperemedia research on consumer attitudes toward fintech, nearly seven in ten consumers are comfortable conducting transactions through a computer or smartphone.

The ‘Platformification’ of Financial Services describes a more holistic approach to consumer digital experience. Consumers are comfortable with financial technology, such as sending transactions via a computer or smartphone on apps such as Venmo and Chase Quickpay, and are expecting a seamless and convenient process to do so.

Towards the end of 2018, Comperemedia released its annual marketing trends for key industries, including financial services. Those predictions include: ‘Mind, Body, and Wallet,’ ‘The New Reality of Rising Rates,’ ‘B2B Above and Beyond,’ and ‘The ‘Platformification’ of Financial Services’. Learn more here.
